Broward Health North Broward Medical Center's Joint Program Receives Excellence Award

Broward Health North Broward Medical Center’s (NBMC) Total Joint program recently accepted the International Team Excellence Award from the American Society for Quality (ASQ). The award was given to NBMC because their Joint Replacement Center showed impressive growth after they implemented a new strategized Total Joint program. 

 

North Broward Medical Center's team of highly trained orthopedic surgeons and health care professionals set out to design a destination joint replacement center utilizing the latest technologies and techniques to increase elective joint replacement procedures and provide optimal clinical outcomes. The program design involved identifying critical to quality characteristics; a designated unit; the development of new processes, including standardized order sets and care plans; a medical director; a joint care coordinator; pre- and post-operative education; and involvement of family and friends.
