Delray Medical Center Appoints New Chief Operating Officer

With more than 30 years of healthcare experience, Teresa C. Urquhart is the new chief operating officer at Delray Medical Center. She will manage daily operations and oversee the development and implementation of long- range plans, goals and objectives for the hospital.
“We are very pleased to have Teresa, who has worked for Tenet Healthcare for over 30 years, to provide leadership for our inpatient and outpatient services,” said Mark Bryan, hospital chief executive officer. “We feel confident that her passion and understanding of our organization will be a valuable asset to Delray Medical Center.”
Prior to her current role, Urquhart was the chief operating officer at sister hospital Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center. During her tenure, she led the planning, design and construction of new operating rooms, a senior emergency department and the renovation of the hospital’s rehabilitation center.   Prior to her time at Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center, Urquhart was the chief operating officer at North Fulton Hospital in Roswell, Georgia.  Before moving to Georgia, she served as chief executive officer at, Coastal Carolina Hospital in Hardeeville, South Carolina. 
Urquhart received her Bachelor of Science in Medical Records Administration at Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, North Carolina. She continued her education and earned her Master of Arts in Health Services Administration from Webster University in El Paso, Texas. 
To get a better understanding of the use of statistical analysis, she also finished her Six Sigma Green Belt Certification at Gwinnett Technical College in Lawrenceville, Georgia. Additionally, Urquhart has served as a member of the Atlanta Heart Walk Executive Leadership Committee.
