 Coral Gables Hospital promotes Cristina Jimenez to the position of Chief Executive Officer. In her new role, she will be responsible for all strategic, operational and clinical initiatives at the hospital. Jimenez began her career at Coral Gables Hospital and has served in various roles over a more than 30-year span. In her previous role as chief operating officer, Jimenez oversaw operations for all non-nursing departments and managed the overall direction of the facility licensure and regulatory accreditations.

Dr. Karan Munuswamy of the Holy Cross Medical Group has been elected president of the board of directors for the American Diabetes Association's South Florida region.

Dr. Munuswamy has a long history of supporting public health education and medical research. He previously served as board president of the organization's Broward County chapter from 2000 to 2012.

 Matt Gracey, the CEO of Danna-Gracey, South Florida’s leading provider of insurance coverage for healthcare providers, received the Buchman Award for extraordinary achievement in the healthcare liability industry at a ceremony in New Orleans, LA on September 12, 2016. The event was hosted by the MedPro Group to bring together and recognize national Key Distribution Partners.

The Buchman Award is presented annually to a Partner who has made a significant positive contribution in the healthcare liability insurance field and embodied the spirit of MedPro’s core values in serving and providing solutions for the healthcare community.


 A. Barry Grosse, J.D., has been named Chief Compliance Officer of the University of Miami Health System and the Miller School of Medicine.

Grosse, who is now Chief Compliance Officer of Healogics, a wound care management services company in Jacksonville, comes with a wealth of experience building compliance programs at managed care companies, hospitals and health care providers.
Among his previous positions were Chief Compliance Officer of the North America Post-Acute Care Division of Hill-Rom Company, Chief Compliance Officer and Associate General Counsel of the Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System in South Carolina, and Director of Electronic Commerce Operations at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida.

Cypress Creek Medical Pavilion, LLC, developers of the future 82,000 SF Cypress Creek Medical Pavilion, held a Groundbreaking Ceremony on Wednesday, March 15 at the property at 2122 West Cypress Creek Road, Fort Lauderdale, FL. A crowd of over 75 guests, physicians,  tenants, future tenants, and business associates were hosted by the Development Partners ANF Group, Inc. and Axis Healthcare Partners as well as brokerage and marketing representatives of Brenner Real Estate Group while enjoying refreshments provided by Offerdahl’s Café Grill.

After a welcome from Andrea Brenner of Brenner Real Estate Group, the invocation was offered by Pastor Stephan Tchividjian. Presenters included City of Fort Lauderdale Mayor Jack Seiler; Nelson Fernandez, Executive Vice President of ANF Group; Liliana Lehmann, President of Axis Healthcare Partners; Peter Messina, Vice President of Commercial Brokerage of Brenner Real Estate Group, and Cary Goldberg of Envision Uptown.

Adults and children with minor illnesses and injuries now have a faster, lower-cost option when needing medical care at the new Baptist Health Express Care, located at 240 Crandon Boulevard. 

The Baptist Health Express Care is open daily from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and walk-ins are welcome – no appointment is necessary. Prices of services are provided before treatment. Care is provided by graduate-level advanced registered nurse practitioners, physician assistants and a team of clinical support staff well qualified to treat most minor illnesses and injuries.
