That is one of the reasons why Dr. Ramsey Pevsner agreed to accept the presidency of the Broward County Medical Association.

As a Florida state employee for more than 42 years, Liz Dudek has had many career successes, most notably in her role as the secretary of the Agency for Health Care Administration and as deputy secretary of Health Quality Assurance. Despite being able to handle almost any task that came her way, however, she did not excel at her next venture - retirement.

There are two daunting facts about Alzheimer’s disease that cannot be ignored.

First, the number of individuals afflicted with the disease is growing exponentially – currently at 5.4 million Americans – because more people are living longer and age is the number one risk factor.

In Florida, non-compete agreements and other restrictive covenants are permitted by Florida’s non-compete statute, Fla. Stat. § 542.335, so long as the restriction is supported by a legitimate business interest. Otherwise, an agreement may be found to be void and unenforceable by a court.

Football season is underway again.
