Dr. Gilbert Beauperthuy-Rojas wasn't satisfied with just having an Orthopedic Center of Excellence established at Coral Gables Hospital, and gaining certification in total knee and total hip replacement from the Joint Commission. No; now that that has been accomplished, he and the hospital administration are working to gain advanced certification for the Center.

One of the most substantial changes of the TCJA affecting tax-exempt organizations was the creation of IRC §4960. This new code section applies to “applicable tax-exempt organizations (“ATEO”)” and imposed a new 21% excise tax on excess executive compensation and excess parachute payments.

In February 2018, 62-year-old Sandra Levine was placed on a waiting list for a liver transplant after contracting the liver disease cirrhosis. She was in the liver transplant program at the South Florida Transplant Center at Broward Health Medical Center.

“When you are facing death,” said Levine, “everything else doesn’t matter.”
