Broward County Medical Association Foundation to Host 92nd Presidential Inauguration & Dinner, November 17, 2018

Dr. David N. Kenigsberg, Cardiac Electrophysiologist, will be installed as the 2018-19 president of the Broward County Medical Association at the Pier Sixty-Six Hotel & Marina’s elegant Crystal Ballroom, starting at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, November 17.

The theme of this year’s event is “Open Your Heart Ball.” Guests are encouraged to wear red and white semi-formal attire.

Dr. Barbara L. McAneny, who was installed earlier this year at the 173rd president of the American Medical Association, will be the guest speaker.

A greatly respected oncologist from Albuquerque, N.M., Dr. McAneny said during her installation that the focus of her tenure as AMA president will be on the AMA’s three strategic arcs: attacking the dysfunction in health care by removing obstacles and barriers that interfere with patient care, reimagining medical education, training and lifelong learning to help physicians adapt and grow in the digital age, and improving the health of the nation by confronting the increase chronic disease burden.

“We are excited to have Dr. McAnemy join us for our Inauguration & Dinner,” said Dr. Ramsey Pevsner, President of the BCMA Foundation. “She will no doubt inspire physicians to take a leadership role in fixing what ails our country’s health care system.”

Funds raised at the event will go to fund the BCMA’s Physician Wellness Program (PWP). The PWP is a plan to invest in the health and wellbeing of community physicians by providing a safe harbor for physicians to address normal life issues.

The Host Committee includes BCMA Board of Director members and officers: Dr. Ramsey Pevsner, President, Dr. David Kenigsberg, President Elect, Dr. Daniela Botoman, Vice President, Dr. Shahnaz Fatteh, Treasurer, Dr. Abram Berens, Secretary, Dr. Ralph Zagha, Immediate Past President, and Dr. Dana Wallace, Chair of the Board of Trustees.

Cost to attend is $185-per-guest or $360-per-couple. If paying by check, please make payable to BCMA-F c/o BCMA Foundation, 5101 NW 21st Ave., Suite 450, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33309. For more information, call the BCMA Office at (954) 714-9477.
