Cardiology Profiles - North Shore Medical Center

Juan C. Velásquez, MD

Dr. Juan Velásquez, interventional cardiologist and expert in the diagnosis and percutaneous management for various types of heart disease. Dr. Velásquez is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in cardiovascular disease, interventional cardiology and internal medicine. He specializes in coronary artery disease, peripheral vascular disease and structural heart disease including mitral and aortic valve pathology. He has a vast experience with coronary and peripheral angioplasty as well as transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR). Dr. Velásquez has published several scientific publications relating to vascular biology and heart disease in peer reviewed journals and medical books. He has also presented his cardiovascular research work at several national and international conferences. When he’s not busy providing heart care as an interventional cardiologist, Dr. Velásquez is a successful singer/songwriter and recording artist, and an amateur marathon runner and soccer player.
Vitalie Crudu, MD
Dr. Vitalie Crudu is an interventional cardiologist on the medical staff at North Shore Medical Center where he has served as the director of the cardiac catheterization lab since 2015. He received the “Physician of the Year” award at North Shore in 2015.
Dr. Crudu is board certified in internal Medicine, cardiology, interventional cardiology, echocardiography, cardiovascular computed tomography, and nuclear cardiology. He completed his residency in internal medicine at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, PA. He completed a cardiology fellowship at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA, and an interventional cardiology fellowship at Brown University in Providence, RI. He is trilingual in English, Russian, and Romanian. Dr. Crudu has been practicing medicine since 2003.
