April 2020 - Volume 16 - Issue 10

February 19, 2020 - In collaboration with Trinity Health, Holy Cross Hospital is launching the Military and Veterans Health Program, a new pilot program that provides military service members, veterans and their families convenient access to high quality, compassionate, people-centered health care by providers and staff that have been trained to respond to the health concerns and challenges specific to the military community. The ceremony is scheduled for Friday, March 6th at 11am.
An estimated 22 million veterans and military service members currently live in the U.S. With their family members, that number escalates to nearly 70 million. In order to properly provide for this unique population, Holy Cross Hospital physicians, nurses and clinicians have been trained to meet their health care needs.
This on-site training includes helping Holy Cross staff better understand the physical, emotional, spiritual and mental impact of operational deployments on service members and their families, including the effects of military service on women’s health.
Among the dignitaries expected to attend the launch ceremony is Florida Department of Veteran Affairs Executive Director Danny Burgess. Master Chorale will participate in the ceremony.
