Joshua D. Lenchus, D.O., has been named chief medical officer of Broward Health Medical Center. In this role he will work with medical staff to provide patients of the 716-bed acute care hospital with the highest quality of care. He will also act as medical liaison between physicians and Broward Health leadership and administration.
Lenchus is board certified in internal medicine and has physician leadership experience, serving for six years as chief of staff at Jackson Memorial Hospital. He previously served at Miami Veterans Affairs Medical Center, University of Miami Hospital and Jackson Memorial Hospital as an internal medicine physician. He was also a former associate program director for the UM/Jackson Internal Medicine Residency Program.
“Dr. Lenchus has significant experience as a physician and medical executive,” said Broward Health Medical Center CEO Jon Turton. “His knowledge of the South Florida healthcare market and experience in senior roles will ensure that Broward Health Medical Center provides the greatest access to high quality healthcare in Broward County.” 
Lenchus has authored several medical publications and books, and served as the principle investigator on many research studies. He earned a Bachelor of Science in pharmacy from University of Florida and a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Nova Southeastern University.
