Barbara Epes
Regional Manager of Marketing & Physician Services
Broward Health Coral Springs Medical Center

Growing up an "army brat", Barbara Epes was born in an unlikely location - Taiwan, Taipei. In 1988 she happily settled in Florida and she began her tenure with Broward Health Coral Springs Medical Center (CSMC) in 1997 as Regional Manager of Marketing & Physician Services.

A Coral Springs Chamber member since 1997, CSMC was an inaugural Trustee member. On the Board of Directors from 2000 – 2004, Barbara chaired the Education Committee which under her leadership, developed and implemented the current Chamber high school recognition program. Barbara is also a graduate of the 1999 Leadership Class.

As co-chair of CSMC’s Community Relations Council (CRC), Barbara doubled membership. The CRC consists of community members providing feedback to the hospital and participating in its annual strategic planning.

Hospital community sponsorships are diverse, generous and vary each year. To increase employee involvement, Barbara developed a Volunteer Incentive Program with over 5,000 hours contributed to date.

In partnership with the American Red Cross and the City of Coral Springs, Barbara co-chairs the Pediatric Drowning Prevention Task Force. The group is proudest of a documented 70% decrease in pediatric drownings brought to CSMC.

Recently, Barbara led efforts to help a family devastated by a house fire. In one week, thanks to donations by employees, local businesses and community members, the family received all the items needed to fill a new home.

Barbara is the 1994 recipient of Broward Health's Lisa Philips Leadership Award for human resource leadership. Personally, Barbara and her husband support Broward Homebound for Disabled Adults and the Alzheimer’s Family Center. When asked her greatest accomplishment, the answer is easy – a happy 20 year marriage and together with her husband Campbell, raising three beautiful sons.
