AUGUST 19, 2019 – Nicklaus Children’s Hospital Foundation has appointed Ed Jachim as Director of Development – Major Gifts at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital Foundation, the fundraising arm of Nicklaus Children’s Health System. In this role, Jachim will assist, develop, and implement initiatives for identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding individual and corporate gifts to support the work of the nonprofit Nicklaus Children’s Hospital, the region’s leading pediatric specialty hospital. His focus is to support the South Florida region while honing in on Palm Beach County, its Boynton Beach Care Center and the Palm Beach Gardens Urgent Care Center.
Jachim has over 25 years of senior and executive level experience in the profit, non-profit, and higher education sectors developing and executing growth strategies, performance metrics management, creating engagement activities, and facilitating philanthropic priorities. Prior to joining the Foundation, Jachim spent the last four years working for the American Red Cross South Florida Region as the Director of Development where he personally raised a total of $3 million.
A native New Yorker, Jachim graduated from the State University of New York at Potsdam with a BA in psychology and a minor in economics. In addition, he was a two-time basketball All-
American and NCAA national champion. These accomplishments eventually led him to tryout with the Atlanta Hawks of the National Basketball Association.
Jachim’s passion for children led him into the non-profit sector 15 years ago by coaching boys and girls basketball teams in Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania. He currently resides in Delray Beach with his wife Linda and Chihuahua Peanut, and they enjoy every minute of the tropical South Florida climate.
