Salute to Nursing - West Boca Medical Center

Zofia Gianelli, RN, BSN

As the Director of the OR at West Boca Medical Center, Zofia Gianelli is considered the straw that stirs the drink when it comes to everything going smoothly for the doctors, nurses and patients who are having surgery at the hospital. Zofia has 32 years of experience as a nurse, and has provided the last 22 of them at West Boca Medical Center. Zofia has a passion of caring for others, and she continues to challenge herself and her staff to the highest standards of patient care. When Zofia isn’t working, she has a variety of hobbies. She loves swimming, biking and running. She also grows topical organic fruits and vegetables as well as orchids. Zofia also enjoys making candles, crocheting and knitting.
Rana Hall, MSN, RN, NP-C
When Rana Hall was 15 years old, her stepfather suffered a heart attack, which led to emergency bypass surgery in the middle of the night. The OR nurse on call that evening not only cared for her father, but took the time to emotionally take care of Rana. She says she doesn’t know how she would have gotten through that night without the help of that nurse. It was from that moment she says that she decided she wanted to help people the same way that nurse helped her. She’s made good on her promise. Rana has been a nurse in the emergency department for the past 21 years, the last 15 working at West Boca Medical Center. Rana says what she loves the most about nursing is the opportunity to interact and make an impact on people’s lives during their most vulnerable moments. When Rana isn’t helping others in the hospital, she’s helping her family, and enjoys a good book too.
