The Consortium for a Healthier Miami-Dade Tobacco-Free Workgroup invites you to attend the 2019 Tobacco-Free Workplace Summit

The Consortium for a Healthier Miami-Dade Tobacco-Free Workgroup is pleased to invite you to the 2019 Tobacco-Free Workplace Summit on Friday, February 22, 2019, from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm. Please join us to learn more about the benefits of becoming a tobacco free worksite, how to create policy change and free quit resources and tools available to all Floridians.
It is estimated that smoking costs Florida $19.6 billion a year in workplace productivity losses, premature deaths and direct healthcare expenditures. The Florida Department of Health in Miami-Dade County Tobacco Prevention and Control Program, in collaboration with the Tobacco-Free Workgroup is working to educate employers, businesses and professional communities about how providing comprehensive tobacco cessation treatment as a health benefit and establishing tobacco free workplace policies will not only improve the health of their employees, but also improves their bottom line.
The event will include a keynote speaker, Mike Freiberg, Senior Staff Attorney from the Tobacco Legal Consortium at the Public Health Law Center, information sessions on Tobacco Policy Change 101 and Health & Wellness: How to Incorporate a Tobacco Free Policy into a Worksite Wellness Program, and a guided panel discussion.
