On Thursday, May 11, the Alzheimer’s Association, Southeast Florida Chapter, partnered with Conviva Care Centers to host a Spanish-language community forum at Conviva Westland (975 W 49th St., Hialeah, FL). The forum consisted of an open discussion with the community and included feedback from local seniors regarding the resources and questions they had about Alzheimer’s.

Presentations were given by Conviva’s Dr. Julio E. Lopez-Andujar, and members of the Alzheimer’s Association chapter including Gloria Orlandi-Kass, MS-Program Services Manager, and Keith Gibson, Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. The seniors then had an interactive Q&A session with the presenters.

In addition, the Alzheimer’s Association’s Brain Bus was on-site for one-on-one care consultations and information about local resources for Alzheimer’s. The Brain Bus is a statewide outreach initiative that raises awareness about Alzheimer’s and related dementias. It addresses the benefits of early detection, early diagnosis, brain health, and risk reduction. With two mobile units, the Brain Bus travels throughout Florida with a focus on underserved communities.

Conviva was proud to host the impactful event for the community’s seniors and the main goal was to better serve Hialeah’s residents through their local Alzheimer’s Association chapter.
