The Dade County Medical Association (DCMA) congratulates Senator Anitere Flores and Representative Anthony Rodriguez for the passage of SB 732, legislation that will enhance regulation and safety for patients undergoing office based surgery in the State of Florida.

“The DCMA was founded upon principles of promoting the highest quality of care for patients in this community.   We are pleased that two respected members of the Miami-Dade County Delegation took such decisive action to ensure this legislation passed and is on the way to the Governor.” stated Barbara Montford, M.D., President of the Dade County Medical Association.
DCMA Executive Director, Fraser Cobbe, added, “Senator Flores and Representative Rodriguez are to be congratulated for this important legislation.  We are pleased to support their efforts and will move forward immediately with education for our members on the new compliance requirements.   While the overwhelming majority of surgical cases performed in this community are of the highest quality, patients in Miami-Dade and those that decide to travel here for world-class care should be comforted with the addition of these important regulatory measures.”
