Homestead Hospital Board of Directors Vice Chairman Steve Sapp (left) and CEO Bill Duquette recently signed the paperwork to close the sale of the old Homestead Hospital to Miami- Dade County Public Schools. The School Board purchased the building $7.4 million and is renovating it to become a magnet medical high school. The special school would be open to about 700 students throughout the county who are interested in pursuing careers in medicine and related fields.
