You work extremely hard to make a good living. You decided to invest thousands of dollars a year to protect that good living if you could not provide the high level of care you committed to.

Then WHY did you not get the job done effectively?

When you purchase insurance protection, knowing what you are and are not covered for is critical. Insurance contracts are legal agreements that determine your ability to collect for a particular claim. Therefore, exclusions and limitations can cause you to be declined even though you thought you were covered. Claim time is the wrong time to discover that you are not covered.

WHAT went wrong? You believed the messenger and not the message.

If you own a disability policy from a whole life company such as Northwestern Mutual, NY Life, or Mass Mutual, you should review the contract carefully.

  • Is your contract pure Own Occupation and Working or modified Own Occupation and NOT working?
  • Are you covered for mental, nervous, and stress for the life of your contract or only for two years?
  • Is your premium fixed and guaranteed, or can your premium go up?

It’s not too late to review your policy coverage. It’s as easy as 1,2,3.

  • Step 1: Find and take out your contract.
  • Step 2: Review the paragraphs that address the above items.
  • Step 3: Call your agent to confirm your exact coverage.
