Ben Riestra has joined UHealth – the University of Miami Health System, as Chief Administrative Officer of The Lennar Foundation Medical Center, the home of UHealth at Coral Gables, which is currently under construction on the Coral Gables campus. He will be in charge of planning, opening and managing the new facility, which is scheduled to be completed in the fall of 2016.
The new UHealth facility will deliver specialty care by the renowned Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center and Bascom Palmer Eye Institute. The facility will also include out-patient surgery, men’s and women’s health, physical therapy, diagnostic imaging, sports medicine, radiation oncology and other UHealth subspecialties.
For Ben, this is a return to the “U.” He worked in the Hospital Division from 2000 to 2004, initially as Manager of Business Development and then as Associate Executive Director. In an earlier position, he served as Business Development Coordinator at Jackson Health System.
Most recently, Ben has been Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Mitchell Planning Associates, an international health care consulting firm headquartered in Northbrook, IL.
