Facilities recognized as top quality performers nationwide 

March 22, 2024HCA Florida Healthcare announced today 32 of its 48 hospitals received the 2024 Patient Safety Excellence Award by Healthgrades, the leading resource patients use to find a hospital or doctor. This award recognizes the top ten percent of hospitals nationally for quality and patient safety initiatives, and underscores HCA Florida Healthcare’s commitment to delivering outstanding care across its network.

To promote this commitment to quality and safety, HCA Florida Healthcare fosters collaboration among its facilities to help continuously improve patient care, using evidence-based guidance, tools, measurement, advanced analytics and data science to support safe, effective, efficient, compassionate care.

Healthgrades evaluated risk-adjusted complication and mortality rates for approximately 4,500 hospitals nationwide to determine this year’s top-performing hospitals for patient safety. Those receiving a Patient Safety Excellence Award demonstrated minimal occurrences of preventable safety events, including falls and hospital-acquired infections.
