It was a great celebration filled with food, fun and fond memories of one of Bethesda Health’s longtime employees, Ruby Stephens. On April 24, 2014, Bethesda Health honored Stephens for her 45 years of service in the Food & Nutrition Services Department at Bethesda Hospital East.

Surrounded by family, friends and fellow colleagues, Stephens was honored for her hard work and dedication to Bethesda. She had a positive impact on the lives of many Bethesda employees and many shared their memories and reflections about Stephens at her retirement celebration.

Stephens began her career at Bethesda as a “salad girl” in the late 60s. Her great work ethic led to her quick promotion to cafeteria supervisor, where she has served for the past 42 years. She also served as a catering supervisor for the past seven years assisting with various hospital activities and events. Stephens’ favorite part of working at Bethesda was serving the Board of Trustees which she did for over 40 years.
