Scheduled to break ground in fall 2016, Kendall Lakes Health and Rehabilitation Center will house 150 total beds consisting of 62 private suites and 44 semiprivate rooms. The project is designed to meet the high demand for rehabilitation services of orthopedic and stroke patients with short-term stays, while also accommodating the needs of long-term care residents.
The facility will incorporate a contemporary "culture change" design to create a more home-like, non-institutional atmosphere than is found in traditional skilled nursing facilities.
The 96,000+ sq. ft., state-of-the-art facility will be located on a nine-acre site at SW 157th Avenue and SW 52nd Street, in Southwest Miami-Dade County.
The design incorporates a patient-centered culture change model where the patient is treated as the ultimate guest in a healthcare resort. Guests are offered British Colonial architecture for an Island-Style getaway while they recuperate.
Kendall Lakes will feature a large, state-of-the-art Physical Therapy Suite, with two separate gyms and an Activities for Daily Living (ADL) Suite for evaluating a resident’s safe transition to home. The suite will also have a private entrance to accommodate patients returning for outpatient therapy. The Therapy Gym will open onto a tropical courtyard containing an occupational therapy track and water features nestled in tropical foliage.
Multiple venues will afford guests an opportunity for various dining possibilities. With options ranging from restaurant style, fine dining, group and private dining rooms; to a Bistro for morning and afternoon coffee, light breakfast and snacks; to in-room dining – guests will be able to enjoy dining in the setting of their choosing.
Other amenities of Kendall Lakes H & R will include tropical courtyards with cabanas and multiple water features; multiple and varied social and recreational spaces; and a movie theater with top-of-the-line video and audio equipment.
With an anticipated opening of spring 2018, Kendall Lakes Health and Rehabilitation Center is assured of offering the ultimate in rest, rehabilitation and recovery to guests.
