Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital is pleased to announce that David J. Peter, MD, MBA, FACEP, will join the leadership team as Chief Medical Officer.
Dr. Peter started at Akron General Hospital in 1994, handling documentation and reimbursement for General Emergency Medical Specialists. He went on to serve as vice president for GEMS; Associate Medical Director of Hospice; Chief Medical Officer for Research; Chief Medical Information Officer; Chief Medical Officer for Care Management and Clinical Resources; and beginning in 2012 in his current position as Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Officer for Cleveland Clinic Akron General Hospital.
Dr. Peter received his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati Medical College, earning Alpha Omega Alpha honors, and completed his emergency medicine residency at the University of Cincinnati. He earned his MBA from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, Isenberg School of Management, and a bachelor’s degree in Biology from Thomas More College.
