Jackson North Medical Center recently celebrated its one-year anniversary as a member of Jackson Health System. Jackson North joined the Jackson family last year when JHS purchased the community hospital, formerly known as Parkway Regional Medical Center, in an effort to offer expanded healthcare services to north Miami-Dade County residents close to their homes.

Jackson North hosted a gathering for employees and community leaders to celebrate their numerous accomplishments in the past year, which include completing more than $11 million in facility upgrades, the initiation of Fast Track emergency room services to reduce wait times for patients, and its agreement with Florida International Universitys College of Medicine to establish teaching programs for medical students at the community hospital.
“We are proud to have accomplished so much in our first year as part of Jackson Health System,” said Sandy Sears, chief administrative officer of Jackson North. “With our experienced medical team and enhanced services and programs, we are able to offer the North Dade community the highest-quality medical care in the area. And we dont plan to stop here. We have many more projects planned for 2008.”
