Rodney Miller, Administrator and Chief Executive Office of Memorial Regional Hospital, was installed as President of the National Association of Health Services Executives at the 22nd Annual Conference in Dallas, TX last October. Past President, Christopher Mosley, passed the gavel to Miller.
A reception was held by the South Florida NAHSE Chapter at the hospital in honor of this distinguished recognition back in March. Prior to being name President, Miller has held several leadership positions in NAHSE over the past eight years.
The National Association of Health Services Executives (NAHSE) is a non-profit association of Black health care executives, founded in 1968 for the purpose of promoting the advancement and development of Black health care leaders, and elevating the quality of health care services rendered to minority and underserved communities. Since its inception, NAHSE has sponsored and participated in local and national programs and projects designed to improve quality, access and availability to health services and to expand educational opportunities in the field of Health Services Administration.
Miller brings more than 17 years of healthcare experience to his NAHSE leadership role. Prior to joining Memorial Healthcare System in 2007, he spent the last five years as President and Chief Executive Officer at Schneider Regional Medical Center in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands. Prior to this position, Miller worked at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah, Georgia, where he held various administrative positions, including Administrator for Cardiovascular and Medicine Services.
Miller is a native of Texas and has served six years in the United States Navy as a Medical and Dental Practice Administrator. He holds a Master of Science Degree in Health Services Administration from Central Michigan University and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Healthcare Management from Park College in Missouri. He completed a residency in Healthcare Administration at the Medical College of Central Georgia in Macon. Recently, Miller earned his Fellow certification from the Board of Governors of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
During his career, Miller has been a recipient of numerous healthcare excellence awards including Georgia Trends “40 Under 40 Rising Stars in Business Award,” Modern Healthcares “Top 25 Minority Executives in Healthcare Award,” and Ebony Magazines “30 Leaders of the Future Award.” He has served on the Board of the American Red Cross and the Boy Scouts of America.
