Peter Mundel, M.D., professor of medicine and cell biology and anatomy, has been named chief of the newly formed Division of Molecular Medicine in the Department of Medicine at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. Dr. Mundel, who previously was director of the Basic Research Program in the Division of Nephrology and Hypertension, will also serve as the Department of Medicines vice chair for research. Dr. Mundel joined the faculty in April 2008 from his position as professor of medicine at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York.
