Leading construction manager Skanska USA Building Inc. recently held an Appreciation BBQ for more than 220 workers and subcontractors who have participated in the construction of the new College of Nursing & Health Sciences Building at Florida International University (FIU). The new 2-wing, 114,000 sq. ft. facility will be the gateway to FIU’s highly anticipated Academic Health Sciences Complex on the northeast corner of the soon-to-be renamed Mitch Maidique Campus (formerly University Park). Scheduled to open in December 2009, the $35 million building project is helping to support the local economy.
