Dr. Osorio’s practice will focus on treating heart rhythm disorders, such as atrial fibrillation and ventricular tachycardia
June 19, 2023– HCA Florida Mercy Hospital, a comprehensive medical facility that has been serving the healthcare needs of South Florida for more than 70 years, today announced the addition of Dr. Jose Osorio, MD, FHRS, a board-certified clinical cardiac electrophysiologist, specialist in the treatment of heart rhythm disorders, such as atrial fibrillation and ventricular tachycardia. Dr. Osorio will serve as the medical director of HCA Florida Miami Electrophysiology.
Dr. Osorio most recently was the director of cardiology and cardiac electrophysiology at Grandview Medical Center in Birmingham Alabama. At Grandview, he served as the principal investigator in dozens of clinical trials investigating novel treatment options for atrial fibrillation.
Dr. Osorio is internationally recognized for his commitment and contribution to quality and practice improvement within the field of electrophysiology. His passion for improving patient care has been recognized by his professional organization, the Heart Rhythm Society, which designed educational programs to highlight the model built at Grandview Medical Center. Dr. Osorio has long championed the team-based approach to continuous quality improvement with a focus on safety, efficiency and improved outcomes. Over the years, he has hosted well over 500 clinicians in his lab (in-person and virtually) to help them improve their efficiency and outcomes.

Dr. Osorio is a native of Brazil where he earned his medical degree. He completed training at the University of Alabama at Birmingham in cardiovascular diseases and clinical cardiac electrophysiology. He is also board certified in cardiovascular disease in addition to his board certification in clinical cardiac electrophysiology.
