August 4, 2023 — The Cape Coral Hospital Auxiliary invites the public to attend an Education Program presented by the Cape Coral Hospital Auxiliary Board of Directors. The event is at 10 a.m. on August 17, 2023. The program will feature five speakers from Lee Health, sharing the history and work of Lee Health in Cape Coral and giving an update on the latest growth and health improvements in the community. There is no cost to attend and no preliminary registration is required.
Speakers will include:
- Michael Wukitsch, Chief People Officer for Lee Health
- Cherrie Morris, Chief Physician and Operations Executive for Cape Coral Hospital
- Candace Smith, Chief Nursing and Operations Executive for Cape Coral Hospital
- Heather Kingery, ICU Nursing Director for Cape Coral Hospital
- Reverend Denise Sawyer, Director of Spiritual Services for Lee Health
Wukitsch will discuss the healthcare needs in Cape Coral as its population continues to grow and how Lee Health plans to provide those services, including locations like Bimini Basin, the Lee Health Cancer Institute and more.
Morris and Smith will share more on program development at Cape Coral Hospital as continued growth helps meet the current and future healthcare needs of the community.
Kingery will talk about the status of the buildout of a third Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and its importance to the community.
Reverend Sawyer will describe the Volunteer Compassionate Listener Program starting at the hospital and how it will benefit Cape Coral and Southwest Florida.
The August 17 program is at 10 a.m. in the auxiliary meeting room off the main lobby of Cape Coral Hospital. The public will need to obtain a visitors pass. Attendees are encouraged to arrive early.
