Tampa, Fla. – November 7, 2023 – The Florida Center for Nursing published a supplement to “The State of the Nursing Workforce in Florida” which takes a deeper dive into the supply data. “Florida’s Nursing Workforce Supply by County” provides a summary of the supply of nurses for each county in Florida.
Nursing workforce characteristics at the county level are compared to the state and national workforce characteristics. Additionally, the county level nursing demographic characteristics are compared to state and national population characteristics per the U.S. Census Bureau. This report sheds new light on the extent to which the demography of the nursing workforce matches the communities they serve.
This supplement along with the Florida Center for Nursing’s biennial report “The State of the Nursing Workforce in Florida” describes the current state of Florida’s nursing workforce and compares statewide workforce data to national census and workforce data. The Florida Center for Nursing’s education and workforce research is used to strategically and innovatively address the issues of nursing supply and demand to meet the needs of the people of the State of Florida.

Nurses are critical to the health and wellness of Floridians.
