December 12, 2023 – Andrew J. Lovy, MD, MS, a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder surgery has joined the Levy Shoulder to Hand Center at the Paley Orthopedic & Spine Institute in Boca Raton, Florida. Dr. Lovy is skilled in the treatment of arthritic and complex traumatic disorders of the hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder, offering the latest arthroscopic and minimally invasive treatment options. Additionally, Dr. Lovy has a particular interest in peripheral nerve injuries including brachial plexus as well as targeted muscle reinnervation. He is well-versed in utilizing some of the most advanced arthroscopic and minimally invasive techniques for optimal patient care. Dr. Lovy is on-staff at West Boca Medical Center, Delray Medical Center, and St. Mary’s Medical Center.
Prior to joining the Paley Orthopedic & Spine Institute, Dr. Lovy worked as a hand and upper extremity surgeon at Holy Cross Hospital in Fort Lauderdale. Dr. Lovy also served as assistant professor, Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery, Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Assistant Fellowship Director of the Hand Surgery Fellowship at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Beth Israel, New York, NY. For his education and training, Dr. Lovy received his medical and master’s degree from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, graduating with distinction in clinical research. Dr. Lovy completed a residency in orthopedic surgery from Mount Sinai Hospital and completed a fellowship in hand, upper extremity and microvascular surgery from the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN.
Dr. Lovy enjoys publishing and lecturing on disorders of the hand and upper extremity. He has published more than 45 clinical and basic science research articles and has presented at national and international meetings. Additionally, Dr. Lovy has authored numerous textbook chapters including tendon injuries of the hand, elbow instability, brachial plexus, and repair/reconstruction of rotator cuff tears.
