Luis R. Barreras, M.D., vice chief of medicine at Broward Health Imperial Point, is board-certified in internal medicine, hematology and oncology and focuses his practice on both internal medicine and medical oncology.
“For more than 36 years helping people has been a pleasure and a privilege to take care of so many people,” Dr. Barreras said.
Dr. Barreras has served as a principal investigator in multiple clinical trials evaluating treatment for cancer, leukemia, and sickle cell anemia.
Fluent in English and Spanish, Dr. Barreras received his medical degree from the University of Miami. He completed a residency in internal medicine at Northwestern Memorial before completing fellowships in hematology and oncology at Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center of University of Miami Hospital.
