Nichole Crenshaw, DNP, APRN, AGACNP-BC, ANP-BC, CHSE, FAANP, associate dean for undergraduate nursing programs and associate professor of clinical at the University of Miami School of Nursing and Health Studies, is in her second year serving as a program director of the innovative “Care Partners Dedicated Educational Unit” (DEU) collaboration between the school and Jackson Health System. The educational initiative she helped found was recently awarded a $125,000 grant under the Florida Department of Education’s “Linking Industry to Nursing Education (LINE) Fund” to increase the number of nursing professionals prepared to enter Florida’s nursing workforce. Together with a $75,000 contribution from Jackson, the award supports clinical rotations and scholarships for 16-full-time Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) students from the school, allowing increased enrollment capacity for the 12-month program. Dr. Crenshaw also serves as Associate Provost for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion for the University of Miami.
