The Palm Beach County Medical Society (PBCMS) and Services held its 21st Annual Heroes in Medicine Awards Luncheon, on Thursday, May 23, 2024. More than 100 guests enjoyed an elegant afternoon at Benvenuto Restaurant & Banquet Facility honoring the 2024 Heroes. Jean Acevedo of Acevedo Consulting and Dr. Vicki Norton of Baptist Health served as Co-Chairs, and Dr. Alan Pillersdorf served as honorary chair.

The event raised $22,000 to help support PBCMS and Services programs, including Project Access, the Healthcare Emergency Response Coalition (HERC), the Medical Reserve Corps (MRC), Community Health Worker Care Coordination training through the PBCMSS Institute for Learning, the Physician Leadership Academy, Physician Wellness, and the Opioid Task Force.
Heroes in Medicine awards spotlight those individuals and organizations in Palm Beach County that provide outstanding service to meet the needs of people in local, national, and/or global communities. Nominees complete a rigorous review process and are selected by community leaders and volunteers. Heroes in Medicine is made possible by the generous support of South Florida Hospital News & Healthcare Report.
