Labor and delivery nurses Alexis Buchanan and Alexis Sharot assisted with delivering twin girls on Monday, August 19, 2024. Baby Karla was born at 9:42 a.m. with her sister Keidy close behind, arriving at 9:43 a.m.
“Helping bring twins into the world as twins ourselves is something we’ll never forget,” said Buchanan and Sharot. “It was truly a one-of-a-kind experience.”
Parents Heidy Rosado-Sanchez and Carlos Cotto expressed their gratitude for their care, noting how the twin nurses add a special element to the story of adding twins to the family.
“I couldn’t believe it when I heard that the nurses each have a twin sister and were the ones helping deliver our twin girls,” said Cotto. “It’s a story we’ll be telling our girls for years to come — how they were welcomed into the world by twins who understand just how special that twin bond is.”
Karla and Keidy have four older siblings waiting to meet them when they arrive home later this week.
