January 30, 2025 —Mount Sinai Medical Center is proud to embark upon its 75th year of operation. Founded in 1949, Mount Sinai Medical Center is the largest private, independent, not-for-profit teaching hospital in Florida.
Since its inception, Mount Sinai has been dedicated to serving the community by delivering the highest quality medical care to all. Today, that same mission remains at the heart of everything we do: to provide high quality health care to our diverse community, enhanced through teaching, research, charity care, and financial responsibility.
With 12 locations spanning Miami-Dade and Monroe counties, including three emergency centers, the medical center continues to focus on expanding access to its expert physicians and services. The next 18 months will see further expansion and investment in our community as we prepare for the openings of the Braman Comprehensive Cancer Center and the Westchester Freestanding Emergency Center, both in early 2026.
Throughout the years, and as the health care landscape changes, Mount Sinai has remained committed to practicing medicine enhanced through teaching and research opportunities. In addition to our infrastructure investments, we are dedicated to recruiting and training top physicians and surgeons from around the country, who work together across multiple disciplines to deliver a patient-centric approach to care.
As one of the original statutory teaching hospitals in the state, Mount Sinai trains over 200 residents and fellows annually, making it the medical center of choice for those seeking the level of expertise and care that only a teaching hospital can offer.

To celebrate this milestone anniversary, the medical center will be implementing a series of commemorative activations throughout the year, as well as launching a patient storytelling campaign, which captures the many lives Mount Sinai has touched for seven and a half decades.
