While Dr. Annie Ho is a fellowship-trained cardiologist, there lies within her the spirit of a teacher, a vocation she pursued while becoming a physician. The South Florida native taught biology for a year at her alma mater, Everglades High School, after earning an undergraduate degree and before beginning medical school. “I knew the experience would make me a better doctor. Teaching is patience and ingenuity, and everyone learns differently, so I developed styles and techniques to best deliver knowledge,” said Dr. Ho.
Today that approach manifests itself in the education she is able to provide patients, fellows trained through Memorial’s Graduate Medical Education program in cardiology, and as a professor at Florida International University.
The eldest of four children in her family – she jokes that she was teaching even as a child – Dr. Ho is also a lifelong learner that keeps up to date on advancements in cardiology and is excited about the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) innovations on the future of medicine.
