September 3, 2025 – Oviedo Medical Center, part of HCA Florida Healthcare, announced today the appointment of Angela Lewis as chief nursing officer for the state-of-the-art 78-bed acute care hospital and its three freestanding emergency rooms in the Greater Orlando area.
Lewis, who began her new role at Oviedo Medical Center this week, was most recently assistant chief nursing officer at HCA Florida Citrus Hospital. During her tenure there, she contributed to significant improvement in quality and safety metrics, improving the processes involved in moving patients from admission through diagnosis, treatment and discharge, employee engagement and retention, and leadership mentoring and development.
Previously, Lewis spent 18 years in nursing at HCA Florida Brandon Hospital, ultimately being named director of the medical/surgical nursing team, a position she held for more than five years.
“We are excited to have Angela’s leadership and experience here at Oviedo Medical Center,” said Cameron Howard, chief executive officer. “In addition to her exceptional accomplishments in an administrative capacity, Angela’s healthcare journey – from nursing assistant to licensed practical nurse to registered nurse to nurse leader – exemplifies her dedication to caring for others and continuous personal and professional growth.”
Lewis earned her bachelor’s degree and a Master of Science in Nursing at Western Governors University.
