$50 million campaign supports new Lee Health Fort Myers campus
Oct. 8, 2025 — Lee Health invites community members, donors, and local organizations to join in shaping the future of healthcare in Southwest Florida through an investment in Lee Health Fort Myers. Scheduled to open in 2028, the new campus represents an $810 million commitment to advanced care, innovation, and patient-centered healing.
Lee Health Fort Myers will meet the growing healthcare needs of Southwest Florida’s rapidly expanding population while improving patient outcomes, enhancing specialized services, and creating a hub for innovation and excellence in care. As a vital part of Lee Health’s mission to inspire health and healing through care and compassion, Lee Health Fort Myers will strengthen Southwest Florida and enrich lives across the region.
Situated on a 53-acre site at Colonial and Jones-Walker Boulevards, Lee Health Fort Myers will provide a seamless healthcare experience for patients and families. Key features include:
- Full-Service Hospital: 236 private patient rooms and a large emergency department designed for speed, precision, and comfort
- Musculoskeletal Institute: Advanced orthopedic and sports medicine care, including return-to-sport testing and performance analysis
- Ambulatory Surgery Center: Convenient outpatient procedures for faster recovery
- Rehabilitation Center: Modern facilities simulating real-world return-to-play scenarios
- Specialty Clinics: Complex Care, Infectious Disease, Dialysis, Spine, and more
- Skilled Nursing Facility: On-site services to support patients and families
- Child Development Center: Built to support up to 114 children
The campus is being built with a flexible infrastructure and hurricane-hardened design, allowing it to grow with the region and adapt to evolving healthcare needs. Built at an 18-foot elevation and designed to withstand a Category 5 hurricane, the facility includes backup generators and redundant water and well systems to ensure uninterrupted care even in the most extreme conditions.
Lee Health Fort Myers will help reduce wait times, improve access to specialized care, and address disparities across the region. Targeted philanthropic priorities include advanced technology for the Musculoskeletal Institute, outpatient surgical care, rehabilitation, complex care, infectious disease, and dialysis services.
