Caring for the Cape event raised $130K to expand healthcare in SWFL’s fastest growing community
Feb. 12, 2026 – Caring for the Cape’s island-inspired event on Jan. 30 at The Westin Cape Coral Resort at Marina Village raised more than $130,000 for advancing healthcare in Cape Coral.
Guests heard from Lee Health about their continued commitment to expanding healthcare access in Cape Coral. Emceed by Corey Lazar, WINK News, guests of the event also enjoyed Caribbean-inspired steel drum music, cuisine, tropical cocktails and silent and live auctions featuring dining experiences, travel, memorabilia and more.
“Cape Coral is the fourth fastest growing city in Florida, and Lee Health is committed to meeting that growth with continued investment in expanded health care services,” said Katy Martinez, senior director of development at Lee Health Foundation. “With the community’s support, we can ensure families can access exceptional care when and where they need it most.”
Community support directly contributes to the ongoing expansion of integral health services, including primary, emergency and urgent care. Lee Health Bimini Square recently opened as a full-service outpatient clinic in the Bimini Basin district of Cape Coral. This medical campus brings together comprehensive services including primary and pediatric care, and new specialty services such as cardiology, imaging, breast health and behavioral health. Additionally, Lee Health has made recent investments in orthopedics, opening 12 new rooms at Cape Coral Hospital’s Emergency Department, doubling the size of the Outpatient Center at Surfside, and opening the new Lee Convenient Care – South Cape Coral on Cape Coral Parkway.
