Malik Fakhar, M.D., is an interventional neurologist with the Broward Health Physician Group.
Dr. Fakhar was drawn to neurointerventional radiology due to the immediate, life-changing impact that it can have on patients.
“The idea that I can directly prevent disability or restore someone’s independence keeps me focused and driven every day,” said Dr. Fakhar.
He is most proud of successfully managing complex cases that lead to meaningful patient recoveries.
“The first time I saw a thrombectomy and watched a patient go from hemiplegic to moving their arm on the table, it completely changed how I viewed stroke care,” said Dr. Fakhar.
Dr. Fakhar earned his medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine. He then completed residencies at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center and at the University of Arizona Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center, before completing two fellowships at Stanford University and Miami Neuroscience Center Baptist Health.
