April 14, 2026 – TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Today, the Agency for Health Care Administration announced the release of the first round of procurement opportunities related to President Trump’s Rural Health Transformation Program.
In December 2025, the Agency was awarded $209 million dollars by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to implement the Rural Health Transformation Program, authorized by Congress through the One Big Beautiful Bill Act. The statewide initiative is aimed at strengthening health care delivery in Florida’s rural communities. Through innovative care models, technology integration, and workforce investment, the program aims to ensure all Floridians, regardless of location, have access to high-quality, sustainable healthcare.
“Under the leadership of Governor Ron DeSantis, Florida continues to prioritize access to quality health care,” said Agency for Health Care Administration Secretary Shevaun Harris. “The Rural Health Transformation Program gives us a powerful opportunity to strengthen health care delivery in rural communities across our state. This is a chance to build something lasting which will improve access to care for Floridians.”
The Agency has released a Request for Quotes for four separate procurements, including:
- A grant management technology solution
- Independent evaluation services to monitor compliance, data governance, and the efficacy of the initiative
- Technical assistance services for grant sub-awardees
- Education and outreach services to assist Medicare and Medicaid beneficiaries in selecting an integrated health plan
These contracts will ensure the Rural Health Transformation Program has the necessary infrastructure to optimally monitor success, track expenditures and deliverables, and provide support for sub-awardees. The Agency will be announcing the release of a second series of procurements soon, which will focus on initiatives that will improve access to care in rural communities. Together, these initiatives align with the Agency’s ongoing commitment to increasing quality health care access throughout Florida.
This procurement opportunity is being conducted in accordance with the Florida State Term Contract provisions, as established under Chapter 287, Florida Statutes. Applicable vendors are invited to participate, and responses must comply with terms, conditions, and pricing structures outlined.
Florida’s Rural Health Transformation Program is supported by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) as part of a financial assistance award totaling $209 million with 100 percent funded by CMS/HHS.
