May 28, 2026- West Boca Medical Center completes a $2.3 million investment to expand and modernize its labor and delivery department.

The multi-phase project included renovations to two nursing stations, expansion of the post anesthesia care unit (PACU) to enhance comfort and recovery for mothers delivering via c-section, and expansion of the hospital’s dedicated OB Emergency Department. The project also includes construction of a new luxury labor suite designed to provide an elevated birthing experience for expectant families.

The approximately 478-square-foot suite features a dedicated family area, a spacious and upgraded bathroom, and allows mothers to remain in one room throughout labor, delivery and postpartum recovery. The suite is available for an additional fee and includes meals for both mom and partner, along with complimentary snacks and beverages.

“We are continuing to invest in the future of women’s healthcare and in the families who trust us with some of life’s most important moments,” said Jerad Hanlon, CEO of West Boca Medical Center. “These enhancements allow us to provide an even more comfortable, personalized and high-quality experience for mothers and babies, while maintaining our commitment to serving as a premier destination for maternity care in our community.”

West Boca Medical Center is also home to the only Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) in southern Palm Beach County, providing advanced care for premature and critically ill newborns. The hospital offers 24/7 in-house laborist and neonatologist coverage to ensure specialized care is always immediately available.

“Our labor and delivery team is dedicated to creating a welcoming and supportive environment for every family,” Hanlon added. “From routine deliveries to high-risk pregnancies requiring advanced neonatal care, we are proud to offer comprehensive services close to home.”

Families considering West Boca Medical Center for maternity care can continue to take advantage of in-person labor and delivery tours, offering expectant parents the opportunity to meet staff, view the unit and learn more about available services. Tours can be scheduled by calling 561-213-8069.
