After experiencing a life-threatening brain bleed early in her nursing career, Cinthia Rogers, BSN, RN, found herself on the other side of emergency care at Memorial Healthcare System. The compassion, urgency and teamwork she witnessed as a patient changed her life, and inspired her to pursue emergency medicine, dedicating her career to supporting others during times of crisis.
Today, with 11 years in emergency medicine, Rogers serves as Director of Emergency Services for Memorial Healthcare System’s Douglas Road ER, which opens June 2026. Rogers helped lead the development of the freestanding emergency room while advancing patient care, team development and community outreach initiatives.
In high-pressure situations, Rogers believes exceptional emergency care requires both clinical excellence and human connection. “Patients come to us during some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives,” she said. “It’s our responsibility to provide not only safe, efficient care, but also reassurance, empathy and support.”
