Encouraged by growing awareness of mental health and continued progress in reducing stigma, Laura Pawlicki, LCSW, believes compassionate care begins with building trust. As a social worker at Memorial Regional Hospital’s Outpatient Behavioral Health Center, she is committed to helping individuals and families navigate life’s challenges and improve their well-being and quality of life.
“Mental health work is incredibly rewarding, but it also requires patience, resilience and the ability to meet people where they are without judgment,” Pawlicki said. “Approach each individual with empathy, cultural humility and respect for their lived experiences.”
She values the opportunity to advocate for patients and families, connect them with essential resources and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support positive outcomes. Seeing individuals gain access to care and make progress continues to inspire her work.
