SEPT 29, 2026 – PORT ST. LUCIE, FLORIDA: The Education Foundation of St. Lucie County is thrilled to announce that its Evening for Education Dinner & Gala this November 7, 2026 will be an out of this world hit. The event will go back in time to where it all started – the Pelican Yacht Club – and is themed after the classic movie hit ‘Back to the Future’. Proceeds to the Foundation’s event will go directly to supporting the A-rated St. Lucie School district.
The event will kick off at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday November 7, with guests being welcomed by a DeLorean Time Machine complete with boosters, lights, and sound. Photo opps with the DeLorean as well as complimentary pictures will be provided to each guest. A reception sponsored by Remnant Construction will include passed hors d’oeuvres as well as complimentary drinks. Guests will have an opportunity to peruse live auction items including a vacation stay in the mountains, Dolly Parton memorabilia, fine jewerly from G. Alan’s and much more. During the plated dinner featuring a selection of beef, sea bass or vegetarian fare, guests will get into the spirit of the event with Back to the 1950’s through 1980’s tunes being played by DJ Elijah.
“We wanted to showcase our past and reminisce with old friends, while welcoming new supporters to our nonprofit. What better way than by going back to the future?” said Thom Jones, president of the Education Foundation. “I remember when we started our Evening for Education at the Pelican and we were the only gala in town. Times have changed, but our commitment to putting on a special event that honors and celebrates our schools remains the same. Do join us in November as we celebrate in style.” he further added.
Come in your 1980’s Back to the Future ‘fits or decked out as Marty’s parents at the dance 50’s finery. Any appropriate dinner and gala wear are welcome as we save the clock tower for public education in St. Lucie County this Fall.
Tickets are now on sale and are just $200 per person or $375 for a couple. On October 1, ticket prices go up to $225.
