Uninsured patients qualify for the promotional rate, available from October 1 to 31.

October 5, 2026 – During Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Holy Cross Health is offering screening mammograms and bone density screenings at a special rate. Available from October 1 to 31 to patients without health insurance, screening mammograms are $100 and bone density screenings are $150 to lower out-of-pocket costs. This includes tomosynthesis and the radiologist’s reading fee, but excludes diagnostic mammograms.

“I cannot emphasize enough how important annual breast screenings are. Detecting changes and abnormalities early increases chances of survival and provides more treatment options,” said Mustapha Khalife, MD, an oncologist in Holy Cross Health’s breast program. “This discounted rate makes this lifesaving care accessible to more patients. I encourage all women ages 40 and above, or younger if your personal physician recommends it, to be proactive about their health and schedule an annual mammogram.”

According to the American Cancer Society, approximately one in eight women in the U.S. will develop breast cancer in her lifetime. When caught early, the five-year survival rate exceeds 99%. Since 1989, breast cancer death rates have dropped by 44%, largely due to earlier detection and better treatment.

SmartCurve 3D breast stabilization technology will be used for the screening mammograms. Purchased through the generosity of Holy Cross Health Foundation donors, this state-of-the-art procedure offers improved mammogram comfort without compromising image quality, workflow or dose.

Mammograms and bone density screenings are performed at the Dorothy Mangurian Comprehensive Women’s Center at the Holy Cross HealthPlex, located at 1000 NE 56th St. in Fort Lauderdale. Appointments are first-come, first-served. Walk-ins will be accommodated as scheduling allows, though advance appointments are recommended. To schedule, please call 954-542-0277.
