October 6, 2026 – In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, HCA Florida Palms West Hospital is unveiling advanced mammography technology at its Breast Center, reinforcing the hospital’s commitment to providing women in the community with high-quality, compassionate breast care.
The new mammography system combines advanced imaging capabilities with features designed to create a more comfortable experience for patients. The technology helps clinicians capture detailed breast images to support the detection of breast cancer while incorporating patient-centered design features intended to reduce discomfort during compression.
“Getting an annual mammogram is an important step women can take to prioritize their health,” said Cory Mead, CEO of HCA Florida Palms West Hospital. “By investing in advanced technology at our Breast Center, we’re working to make that experience as comfortable and convenient as possible while giving our care teams the high-quality images they need.”
Breast Cancer Awareness Month serves as an important reminder for women not to put off recommended screenings. HCA Florida Palms West Hospital encourages women to speak with their healthcare provider about the breast cancer screening schedule that is right for them.
