October 12, 2026 – Make-A-Wish® Southern Florida, a nonprofit that grants life-changing wishes for critically-ill children, announces the addition of Diego Ojeda to its Board of Directors. Ojeda is president of the Miami-based Rilea Group, a real estate development and management company.

“It’s rewarding to be part of a group dedicated to positively impacting children and families coping with life-threatening health issues,” said Ojeda, a Key Biscayne resident. “We’re able to bring joy by granting wishes, and research shows the experiences we provide are an important supplement to traditional medical treatment.”

Wish kids most often ‘wish to be’ (something), ‘wish to meet’ (someone), ‘wish to go’ (somewhere), ‘wish to have’ (something) or ‘wish to give’ (to a cause) and the nonprofit organization makes this happen for the child and his/her entire family at no cost or obligation.

“Diego brings a fundraising mindset to the board’s efforts and an understanding of the impact his skills can have in the philanthropic space,” said Norman Wedderburn, president & CEO of Make-A-Wish Southern Florida. “He is committed to helping us reach and grant a life-changing wish for every medically-eligible child in our territory.”

Make-A-Wish Southern Florida (www.wish.org/sfla) has granted more than 15,000 wishes since 1983 for critically-ill children, understanding wishes aren’t just nice, they are necessary for kids and families at some of the most difficult times in their lives.

The Southern Florida chapter’s territory includes 22 counties/four regions: southeast and southwest Florida, the Suncoast and Tampa Bay. It also includes the U.S. Virgin Islands.
