Experienced healthcare leader brings proven record of hospital growth, operational excellence and expanded patient services
October 29, 2026 – HCA Florida Aventura Hospital has named Isaiah Zirkle as its new chief executive officer, effective October 12. Zirkle brings extensive healthcare leadership experience and a proven track record of expanding access to high-quality care, strengthening physician engagement and driving operational excellence.
Zirkle most recently served as chief executive officer of HCA Florida West Marion Hospital in Ocala, where he led significant growth initiatives, service line development and operational improvements. Under his leadership, the hospital completed a $120 million expansion that increased inpatient capacity to 262 beds, expanded inpatient rehabilitation services and established the nation’s first DNV-accredited stroke rehabilitation center. He also secured capital investment for a new freestanding emergency department.
During his tenure, HCA Florida West Marion Hospital achieved exceptional physician engagement and top-quartile operating room performance. The hospital also earned national recognition from Healthgrades, including being named the No. 1 hospital in Florida for orthopedic surgery and receiving recognition among America’s 250 Best Hospitals.
“Isaiah brings a proven record of leadership, operational excellence and a strong commitment to delivering high-quality patient care,” said Charles Gressle, HCA Healthcare East Florida Division president. “His experience leading hospital growth, strengthening physician partnerships and expanding healthcare services will be invaluable as HCA Florida Aventura Hospital continues to advance its mission of serving patients and families throughout South Florida.”
Prior to becoming chief executive officer of HCA Florida West Marion Hospital, Zirkle served as chief operating officer of HCA Florida Ocala and West Marion Hospitals, a 545-bed healthcare system. In that role, he helped drive growth in surgical and cardiovascular services, advance major capital expansion projects and develop new freestanding emergency departments. He also contributed to the system’s designation as the region’s only Level I Trauma Center and its national recognition for excellence in cardiovascular and surgical care.
Zirkle began his healthcare career as an administrative fellow at Stanford University Medical Center. He holds a master’s degree in healthcare administration from the University of Minnesota and a bachelor’s degree in Spanish from Brigham Young University.
“I am honored to join the talented team at HCA Florida Aventura Hospital,” said Zirkle. “The hospital has a strong reputation for clinical excellence and a longstanding commitment to the communities it serves. I look forward to working alongside our physicians, nurses and colleagues to build on that foundation, strengthen our services and ensure patients continue to have access to exceptional care close to home.”
