Shane Strum, President and CEO of Broward Health, signs the beam with fellow executives
November 4, 2026- Broward Health celebrated a major construction milestone with the topping out of its medical office building (MOB) at Broward Health North in Deerfield Beach. The ceremony marked the placement of the final structural beam at the highest point of the six-story building. The beam featured signatures of Broward Health executives, local officials and the construction team.
In keeping with topping-out tradition, a palm tree and American flag were placed atop the building along with the final beam.

“This building reinforces our commitment to expand access to specialty care across our community,” said Shane Strum, President and CEO of Broward Health. “As our first medical office building in nearly three decades, this project represents a generational investment in the people we serve and the future of care in north Broward.”
The 127,033-square-foot facility will create new physician offices for outpatient services, including cardiovascular, neuroscience and orthopedic services, as well as additional specialty clinics and affiliated physician practices.
“We are proud of our construction partners for achieving this milestone in record time,” said David Clark, senior vice president of operations at Broward Health. “With the structure topped out, the construction team is preparing to install prefabricated panels.”
The medical office building was designed by The Beck Group in collaboration with DMZ Architects; the building will include 75 exam rooms, with infrastructure to expand to 123 as future demand grows.
Remedy Medical Properties, a national outpatient medical real estate owner, is collaborating on the project, and DPR Construction is the general contractor.
The project represents one of Broward Health’s first major new construction projects in almost 30 years and reinforces Broward Health’s long-term commitment to supporting high-quality care, innovation and improved patient outcomes.
The new medical office building at Broward Health North is expected to open in 2027.
